General Event Information
The USCC Qualifying Event barista competition will be a condensed version of the full USBC.  The USCC Qualifying Event is intended to provide an opportunity for baristas to demonstrate necessary competition skills to qualify to compete at the US Coffee Championships US Barista Championship taking place in April 2016 at the SCAA Expo in Atlanta, Georgia.

USCC Qualifying Event barista competition will be run according to the 2016 USCC Qualifying Event Rules and Regulations. Under these rules, Competitors are required to produce 2 espressos, 2 milk based drinks, and 2 signature drinks, served to 2 sensory judges, 2 technical judges and 1 head judge in a 10-minute time frame. Additional rules and details may be found in the Rules and Regulations as well as in the Frequently Asked Questions section of this website.

The top 6 barista competitors from each conference will be determined. Each of these 12 will automatically advance to the USBC semi-final round held at the USCC in Atlanta, Georgia.

The remaining competitors from each conference will then be combined into one pool and ranked based on score. The 24 highest scoring baristas from this combined and ranked pool will be invited to compete in the first round of the US Barista Championship.

Competition Time:

20 minutes practice
