U.S. Brewers Cup Championship

The U.S. Brewers Cup is a coffee brewing competition that highlights the craft and skill of manual filter coffee brewing.

There are two services in Brewers Cup: Open and Compulsory. For compulsory service, competitors brew three beverages from the same whole bean coffee provided to them by the competition. These coffees are evaluated by judges on a standardized numerical scale based on sensory components such as aroma, flavor, body, and acidity. In Open Service, competitors present and brew three beverages with a coffee of their choice for judges with an accompanying presentation.

For the 2027 season, the U.S. Brewers Cup Championship will feature Regional Qualifiers leading into the U.S. Brewers Cup National Championship. Competitors will first earn their place through the qualifying events, with top performers advancing to compete for the national title and the opportunity to represent the United States on the world stage.

Regional Qualifier dates and locations, as well as the U.S. Brewers Cup National Championship, will be announced soon.

The U.S. Brewers Cup Competition is led and overseen by the USBrC Committee. This dedicated group of volunteers, with the help of our regional communities and partners, work year round to organize, produce, and facilitate the competition. This competition could not happen without the dedicated support of our communities.

U.S brewers cup JUDGE + VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

The US Brewers Cup Competition could not be facilitated without the dedicated on-site support of it’s Judges and Volunteers. Joining the ranks of either group can be intimidating for a first timer, however, there is so much value and opportunity for professional development that can come from your dedicated participation.

There is no pre-requisite for signing up to Judge. Judges will be approved to judge after passing the Calibration Workshop that takes place the day before the start of Competition.
