COMPETITION REGIONS

The US Chapter & USCC have aligned to three Competition Regions to focus the community support and involvement within our local communities. For the 2025 Season, there are three Competition Regions: East Coast, Central, and West Coast.

Competitors, Volunteers, and Judges alike are permitted and encouraged to participate in as many Regional Events as they’d like. These are not boundaries, but guidelines for bringing together community support by region.

Lottery Selection occurs by Competition, by Region. Competitors can apply to the lottery for any Region but will only be selected into a maximum of one Regional Competition.

A single National Championship will be held for each Competition and will be fed into via Qualification from these Regional Events.

QUALIFICATION

The Regional Qualifying Competitions serve as feeders into their respective National Championships. From each competition, top placing competitors will awarded an opportunity to compete for the title of National Champion in their respective National Competitions.

Cup Tasters, for the 2025 Season, will only hold a National Championship.

THE LOTTERY SYSTEM

U.S. Coffee Competitions adopts a weighted lottery system for its Regional Qualifying Competitions. Studies have shown that when there are more candidates, or in this case Competitors, who want to participate than there are spots available for participation that the fairest way to select who gets to compete is through a lottery system. For each of the Qualifying Competitions, half of available registration spots are made available to open registration and the remainder are allocated towards the lottery.

2025 REGIONAL HOSTS

A very special thank you to all of our 2025 Regional Host Partners! These competitions could not be produced without the generous contributions of our host partners. Use of these spaces in our community both creates a more sustainable financial backbone for the event series while also paying over the benefits of hosting to those in our respective communities. Show some love and gratitude when you meet them!
