Jen Apodaca, fairy-roast mother to many, has been roasting coffee for what feels like forever. They can roast any coffee on any machine. In 2019 they started Mother Tongue Coffee with the founding principle that coffee is not a charity and is building a supply chain that doesn't profit off the backs of others.
They chaired the Coffee Roasters Guild with the Specialty Coffee Association and they founded the hashtag campaign #shestheroaster - which promotes and encourages all women in the coffee industry to become professional coffee roasters. They are a certified Q Grader and the 2019 US Cup Tasters Champion.
