The U.S. Chapter consists of 23 coordinators who volunteer to serve their community for a 2-year term. Every year, a number of positions open for nomination and election.
This year, the term for standing Competitions Committee Chair and U.S. Competitions Coordinator, currently held by Nathanael May, has come to an end. We are excited to announce the incoming U.S. Competitions Chair to serve on the 2021 - 2023 U.S. Chapter Committee as U.S. Chapter Competitions Coordinator: Lauren Lathrop!
Lauren Lathrop (she/her) is the Director of Education at Mill City Roasters. For over 15 years, Lauren has been involved with the coffee community and worked as a barista, cafe manager, instructor, and competitions judge. She loves meeting with new and experienced coffee people and helping them find their skills, talents, and passions within the coffee industry. Through her work in coffee education, she seeks to make our industry accessible, equitable and welcoming.
Nathaneal May will end his two-year term as Competitions Committee Chair and current Chair member Lauren Lathrop will transition into the Competitions Committee Chair role. This role also serves on the U.S. Chapter National Coordinator Committee as Competitions Coordinator. Kain Adams will be filling Lauren’s previous role as the incoming 2021 - 2023 Barista Chair member.
