The USCC Leadership is comprised of dedicated volunteers without whom these USCC events would not be possible. Volunteering is a chance to influence the way people experience coffee, build meaningful connections, and take pride in knowing your time helped bring these special events together. It is also an opportunity to learn more about coffee competitions, communication, and hospitality, all while working in a vibrant, exciting, and fast-paced environment. These experiences will not only enrich your community and profession but also your personal growth.

These USCC events are hosted at multiple locations throughout the year. There are many opportunities to get involved — from helping run a skills development workshop, to running the competition stages and bars, managing logistics, preparing routines for judges as a calibration barista, or hyping the audience as an emcee on one of the stages.

Emcees

Are you comfortable being in front of people and keeping them engaged with your coffee knowledge and charisma? Emcees are a huge part in keeping the USCC audience energized

As an emcee, you’ll play a key role in bringing the competition to life—guiding audiences, engaging with competitors, and sharing the excitement of the US coffee talent. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise, connect with industry leaders, and gain exposure on the national stage.

Stage & Bar Volunteers

This is a great way to get started in coffee, deepen your connections in the industry, and get up close to the action on the competition stages, backstage, and more at USCC events. USCC positions include everything from helping with time keeping on stage, resetting competitor stations, bussing dishes, greeters for attendees, and more.

Lead Volunteers

These positions require specific experience and a greater time commitment but are perfect for specialty coffee professionals who are open for leadership roles and would like to be more involved with the behind-the-scenes support of the event.

Lead volunteer roles include stage/backstage assistants & managers, scorekeepers, bar managers, and head runners across the competition stages and USCC bar areas.

Calibration

Baristas

Calibration Baristas play a vital role in the Judge Calibration processes. Whether it is during a judge calibration in the day(s) leading up to the competition event, during a skills development workshop, or any other event.

As Calibration Barista, you will perform routines which you plan, prepare, and manage logistics leading up to the event. Larger equipment will be provided. Depending on the venue and type of event smallwares and ingredients may be made available.

Those interested must display competency in the competition format This is a unique opportunity to work with judges, organizers, and competitors to enhance your skills while contributing to the USCC.
